about

The Storm was written in Minneapolis, (where I live) at the end of May 2020, following the killing of George Floyd and the unrest that followed.

lyrics

Storm raging
We may not survive
Shallow grave waiting at the edge of the divide
Storm raging
We may not survive

Storm raging
But you can’t come inside
Cos where we’re standing now
There’s no place left to hide
Storm raging
But you can’t come inside

Frogs racing tires in the street
Lightning jumps from church to church
And strikes at your feet
Mama, this water’s gettin’ deep
Mama, this water’s gettin’ deep

Storm raging
Have you made up your mind?
Storm raging
Time to pick your side
A man walked out today, to live
But he died
Storm raging
Time to pick your side

Frogs racing tires in the street
Lightning jumps from church to church
And dies at your feet
Mama..
He can’t breathe
Mama..
He can’t breathe

Storm raging
Storm raging
Storm raging

But you can’t come inside

I’ve opened for many of my favorites including Sturgill Simpson, Echo and The Bunnymen, and Semisonic. But the future is now and it begins with The Storm. ... more
